Ubuntu for Android The Team that Comes will be a Smartphone


Canonical has just released a very interesting new project: Ubuntu for Android. The idea is simple, the conversion of a terminal at two different things depending on what you are using. Thus an Android phone would be a normal cell, but immediately became a computer with Ubuntu.

Android Ubuntu may be the experience of a complete mobile desktop, not simulated, that come with office software, web browser, applications, email and multimedia, and everything that Android can offer. Seamless integration between Android and Ubuntu. Everything running smoothly and immediately. Therefore, our contact with our PC Android Ubuntu would also allowing access to their Facebook or Twitter, SMS, read and respond to messages or make calls directly from your desktop.
For now, the minimum requirements for Ubuntu + Android are:

  • 1 GHz dual-core
  • Accelerated video shared by kernel module with Open GL ES / EGL
  • 2 GB of disk space
  • HDMI video output
  • USB Host Mode
  • 512 MB of RAM
Anyway, we have to wait until next week, when it will be officially launched at the Mobile World Congress, to be more detailed project information.
